What's happening with the Friends

Propagation workshop -
Sunday 9th September, 2pm-4pm:

Following up the highly successful cuttings and grafting workshop last year, Rodger Elliot has very kindly offered to run a seed-raising workshop. From amongst the participants, the committee is keen to see a Propagation Group spring up amongst the Friends in order to keep rarely sold plants from the Karwarra collection available in the nursery. Staff at Karwarra no longer have the time to keep this service going.

If you would like to be involved, please phone Elaine on 9755 1077, email on elaine@insitu.info or leave a message with the Karwarra Office.

Working bees:
The storm in June was followed by a major tidy-up of the garden but weeds are starting to appear with the warmer weather. Keeping the garden tidy is important before major work begins on the changes to the layout and design of the entrance as recommended in the recently-completed Master Plan. If you would like to lend a hand with this - good exercise, wonderful surroundings, congenial companionship and a barbecue lunch to follow! - please let Regan know on 9728 4256 or email Karwarra Office

Thanks to:
Dick Wallace for keeping Friends in touch through the newsletter;
Margaret Kofod and Jean Galliot for continuing their challenging task of stocktaking the Karwarra collection. (The new sheets appearing on the lecterns are evidence of their handywork.)
